workshop on Celtic Spirituality, February 17, 2008
Celtic Spirituality, an ancient form of
faith expression, has sparked renewed interest in the past few decades.
On Sunday, February 17th from
1-4 pm St. Peters Episcopal Church and Seekers, Spiritual Treasures at
St. Peters
square on
Second Street
in Lewes will jointly sponsor a free workshop on this spiritual tradition.
Sr. Barbara Jean Brown, Abbess of the Anamchara
Fellowship and an expert in Celtic traditions who makes her
home in
Newark
,
DE
will lead the workshop. Sr.
"BJ" has been an Anglican Religious for over 30 years, and has spent
most of that time developing an itinerant ministry of preaching and teaching.
Her passion is in leading pilgrimages to
Ireland
and
Great Britain
, with
Scotland
a major focal point.
The workshop will explain the ways of Celtic spiritual tradition, its poetry and
its prayer. Examples on how a person
can explore Celtic Spirituality on a personal basis will be offered. Resources
on Celtic spirituality will be available as well.
The Seekers ministry
is designed to provide resources for spiritual growth, knowledge and inspiration
for people of all faiths through the shop now established in the St. Peter's
Church parish hall and outreach programs such as the current one with
Sr."BJ.". Net proceeds
from the sale of fair-trade spiritual gift items and books are donated to those
